Do you know someone with a birthday, anniversary, retirement or any other special occasion coming in the near future? Have you given any thought to a gift? This can be a difficult task and also should be something given from the heart. For myself I have always dreamed of getting one of Bulova chronograph watches sold by BlueDial.com. They have a great selection for both men and women that are stylish and priced to sell. Now this might sound like something that just is not with today’s style. But almost everyone where’s a watch. And if you choose one that matches the person’s style, they will wear it almost every day and when they look at it you will come to their mind. This way they will never forget how much they meant to you. Check out their selection at BlueDial to see what I am talking about.

Healthy Food

Contrary to popular belief, fruits aren't just for the rich. There are locally grown fruits that offer the same vitamins and minerals at a fraction of the cost. The banana for example which can be bought for piece or per pound depending on the size, this contains potassium, carbohydrates, Vitamin A,C,K,B6,magnesium and fiber. It provides the right amount of energy giving calories without the sodium fat or cholesterol.

Fruits such as bananas can substitute for sweets after your meals, instead of eating cake, ice cream or candies that bring nothing but sugar and empty calories, eat a piece of chilled fruit instead. To ensure maximum savings, buy fruits that are grown locally and are in season, aside from lower cost, fruits that on season tend to taste better when it is not in season for that particular fruit it can be expensive. The secret of finding inexpensive yet healthy food is in learning the basics of good nutrition and applying the knowledge inside the grocery.

Why Not Detroit?

When people think of Detroit, Michigan they immediately think of it as the motor city and automobiles. But Detroit is much more than that. There are many other attractions in or near Detroit, Michigan like Michigan’s largest used and rare book store, many art and craft stores, fine dining both downtown and at the pier, Shen-Yun Performing Arts studio, the Science Center IMAX Dome Theater, Redford Theater, Riverfront 4 Theaters and let’s not forget Wayne State University and University of Michigan. There is so many things to do it would take hours to list them all here.

This is why I live near Detroit, Michigan and why I used Detroit real estate to find the home of my dreams. People have told me I am crazy for investing in a home when the economy is bad. I look at it exactly the opposite, but as a future investment. With the help of Detroit real estate I was able to find a beautiful home near my work and in my price range. I used their website to narrow down my search by first entering in a price range, then how many bedrooms I wanted, how many bathrooms wanted and then the oldest age of a home I would consider. And to my surprise up came approximately 30 homes that met my search criteria. Then I was able to browse thru them, review the information and photos to find the ones I was interested in looking at. To my surprise I found my home in about 2 weeks and Realtor.com was the reason why. I was so pleased with the results I mentioned the website to a close friend who is transferring to San Francisco, California. I hope he is able to find the home he is looking for without all the stress of driving from house to house. I see after looking over their website more they have homes available all over the United States with thousands to choice from. If you are thinking about investing in your dream home I recommend trying to eliminate some stress and use Realtor.com. I hope you find your dream like I did.

Wise Shoppers

Do you know what good prices are for cooking oil, laundry detergent, powdered milk, shampoo, etc. in your area, how often these go on sale and which grocery store usually has these at the lowest and best prices? If you don't, a price book could be a good tool to add to your savings.

Create your own price book to track how much you spend on each regular item that you purchase and you'll soon know when something is a good buy and even how much you need to buy to last until the next sale.

Be Happy When You Move

The new year has begun, you have decided it is time to relocate to a new location to call home. This maybe because of a new job or because you just are not happy with the location or land lord you presently have. Now you come to the realization that there are many locations to look and you still could pick a place with problems. So you ask yourself what do I do? The answer is Move.com.

Their website was designed for those in the United States that are searching for their dream home, a place to invest in for the future or apartments for rent if you’re searching for a temporary place to call home. I tried their website and it was great. I was able to customize the search and break it down by location, how many bedrooms, how many bathrooms and even set the price range I was able to afford. Move.com also gave me information on the neighborhoods I was looking at and the value of the homes in the area of my choice.

This for me was a great feature, because when I was a college student in my first year I did not know the area where I was going to attend college. And like a stupid young adult I thought I knew everything or at least was prepared for anything. I went online and located what I thought was an unbelievable deal for a house to rent. The pictures the owner sent me of the house where beautiful, the price was right and it was within the bus route so I could get to school and other activities with ease.

So what did I do, naturally I sent him the signed agreement and the rent deposit. I thought I had everything under control. Was I in for a surprise? When I arrived the following month I was so excited to start my new life. I found my new home and was surprised by what was next door. It was a steel refinery. Now some might say that is not bad. But they have never lived next to a steel refinery. It smells bad, is loud from the occasional dropping of steel and the semi trucks constantly going in and out. So if you are in need of a new place to call home do yourself a favor and try Move.com.

Stocks Investment

Stocks are shares of ownership in a corporation. Usually the big companies in the country are listed in the stock market so that you can buy their shares at low price, then hopefully sell them at a high price in the future so that you can have a profit. You can either buy or sell stocks via a licensed stockbroker, who in turn gets a certain commission from every transaction you make, usually about 15% commission.

More information about trading stocks and list of accredited stockbrokers can be found at the Stock Exchange Website. The challenging part about investing in stocks is making the critical decision of WHAT to buy, WHEN to buy it and WHEN to sell it.

You will have to do some research on the company's performance over the years and whether there are upcoming changes to be expected soon or not. Try attending a seminar on stock investment from any of the accredited stockbrokers. They usually give it free, together with some snacks. There are risks involved especially if you don't track your investment properly, so make sure you have the patience and determination before going for it.

PC Protection For Any Size Business

Malware and Viruses are running ramped on the internet. You can get them without even knowing it, simple by taking part in a forum, following someone on twitter or opening an email. This can be very frustrating and costly if this happens to a business. So from one IT guy to another you should take a moment to checkout Sophos.com. Their Security Software and Data Protection software is getting great reviews by many. It is considered to be complete protection software or an all in one package.

Sophos also takes a look at many different areas of security threats for your PC’s. Things like solving security challenges with Microsoft SharePoint or how to keep large amounts of sensitive items and confidential material safe. Sophos even takes on the question that many IT people have asked, is Windows 7 security improvements a big help for users and network administrators.

This question has been asked by many, but rarely answered. I know I will definitely continue using their products and be able to sleep at night knowing my company files are safe. Unfortunately Sophos software is not available to individuals. But if you own or work at a company that is in need of Security Software they might have the solution you are looking for.
